Adult Bible Based Literacy

“A student is not above his teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like his teacher.”

By the time young men and women have reached the age of maturity in developing nations, those who are illiterate will be condemned to a life of struggle. They will be unable to make simple change in the marketplace and read directional signs. They will be unable to read food labels, prescription instructions, and safety warning signs. When they agree to a contract by placing their fingerprint on it, they will not know that defaulting the contract may mean that they along with their children are to become slaves to the lender! Misery is their daily enemy.

Church planters armed with simple literacy training materials offer free adult learning classes for the ignored villages and communities of the planet. It is nearly always women who respond and because of their great hunger to learn, they very quickly learn the necessary skills to function in  society. Church planters intentionally share the truths of the gospel and get to witness to the  hearts and minds of homes and communities as about 40% of the learners turn to Christ. Because of the practical lessons taught in economic skills, basic hygiene, and marketplace math, income often triples in the first year, diseases and sickness are abated, and above all villagers with  believers blossom with new hope in the Lord.
