As the Christmas season draws near, our hearts ache for the millions upon millions of children who have never heard the story of Jesus. Children like Mahika.
Mahika desperately wanted to attend the local Bible Club with her friends. After much resistance, her parents, who were steeped into Hindu tradition, finally allowed Mahika to go and even let her young brother go along.
Over the next few weeks the Children’s Bible Club teacher told beautiful stories from the Bible. Mahika loves the story about the birth of Jesus, God’s Son. Each night the family gathered to hear Mahika and her brother share the Bible stories and praise songs.
Please pray for Mahika and her family. This will be the first time they celebrate the wonder and the joy of Christmas.
There are young mothers who cannot read the Christmas story to their children because they are illiterate. Mothers like Dipali who was encouraged to join an Adult Literacy Class in her village.
Despite her shyness, Dipali joined the class and soon she became one of the fastest learners. Life soon changed for her family. Dipali can read and write and do basic math. Her children must finish their homework each night and her husband was so happy with the changes that he visited the literacy teacher to thank her.
