Church Planting Training
“I may not be a trained speaker, but I do have knowledge.”
2 Corinthians 11:6a
In carrying out its part of the great commission, The Bible League of Canada partners with many organizations and individual church planters to place Scriptures and church planting training materials in the hands of those who have been nudged by the Holy Spirit to seek Christ. Each country and each culture requires varying strategies to accomplish this task. Several truths are considered as strategies are developed:
Truth #1 Children ages 7-14 have the highest conversion rate to becoming followers of Christ and are least likely to abandon their faith as they become older.
Truth #2 In the developing world, illiteracy is rampant and is the strongest indicator of poverty, malnourishment, and premature death.
Truth #3 Indigenous (native) church planters are far more effective than foreign missionaries since they know the language, culture, values, climate, and have far less financial and physical needs.
Truth #4 Indigenous church planters offer a needed service to their countrymen allowing them to quietly share the gospel with unbelievers. This is referred to as their “ministry platform.” Ministry platforms can include: literacy classes, health and hygiene training, children’s after school clubs, among others.
Truth #5 As children in developing nations make a decision to follow Christ they often influence their mothers to do the same, mothers in turn influence their husbands and Christian families become powerful agents of change in their communities.
The Bible League of Canada has Church Planting Training programs in Asia (India), Africa & The Middle East, and Europe.
